The Bholdable Cup complements your after dinner espresso or during dinner sake with its unique dual wall design to keep your hands cool and your drinks warm. Form and function come together in a stylish one-piece design that’s made possible by 3D printing. The cut-outs on the outer wall are more than just an aesthetic touch; in the single and double shot sizes, they add extra grip, and they speed up evaporation after washing. No more need to clutch a tiny handle.
For all day coffee and tea, the Bholdable Mug is a standard mug size that holds 7 oz. Cups are also available in a matching set as part of the Bholdable Sake Set.
More on the Bholdable
In experimenting with what would be possible with 3D printing that’s not possible with traditional ceramics, we created the Bholdable. It's a design that can only be made in one piece through 3D ceramic printing. A ceramic mold cannot create it and throwing it on a potter’s wheel isn’t possible due to the proximity of the two walls. The cutouts in addition to acting as windows to the inside are necessary for the firing process as an air escape so that the piece does not explode in the kiln. For thousands of years, we have been using mug handles as the way to avoid touching the hot surface of ceramic cups, but now we can see what's possible with this one-of-a-kind concept design.
